Summary of chapter ( 7 )
The three men were on the raft. They travelled about 145 kilometres at the end of the second day. Hans caught a strange fish. It had a flat head, but no tail and no tail and no eyes. The Professor tied a pickaxe to the end of a long rope and threw it into the sea to find out the depth of the sea but in vain. It was bitten by a sea monster.
They saw two sea monsters in the sea and they attacked each other at the end one of them died.
On the 3rd day, they saw a fountain rising from the sea. Axel was afraid and wanted to go away but the Professor asked Hans to sail straight ahead where they found an island. The fountain proved to be a geyser.
They were at the mercy of the storm for three days. When the storm stopped, they could see a shore and then they crossed the sea and landed the shore.
On the shore they found bones of animals, a skull of a human. They also saw a strange forest. The trees were pale yellow with no lower branches. They saw a herd of mammoths and a very tall man three meters high leaning against a tree. They were afraid and ran back to the raft.
