The Three Billy Goats
Read the story and do the activities :-
Once upon a time in the mountains there lived three goats. They were happy but they were hungry. They lived by the side of a big deep river, but they didn’t have enough grass to eat.
On the other side of the river there was a field full of lovely green grass, but they had to cross the bridge to reach the other side and under the bridge lived an ugly troll.
One day, the goats decided to try to cross.
First, the little goat came onto the bridge, Trip, trap, trip, trap.
‘WHO’S THAT CROSSING MY BRIDGE?’ yelled the troll.
‘It’s only me’ said the smallest goat.
‘THEN I SHALL EAT YOU FOR LUNCH!’ said the troll in a scary voice.
‘Oh no’, said the smallest goat, ‘don’t eat me! A bigger goat is coming. You can eat her, not me.’
The troll went back under the bridge.
The middle-sized goat decided to cross the bridge, Trip, trap, trip, trap.
‘WHO’S THAT CROSSING MY BRIDGE?’ yelled the troll.
‘It’s only me’, said the middle-sized goat.
‘THEN I SHALL EAT YOU FOR LUNCH!’ said the troll in a scary voice.
‘Oh no’, said the middle-sized goat, ‘don’t eat me! A really, really big goat is coming. You can eat him for lunch.’
The troll went back under the bridge.
Big hairy Mr Billy Goat had huge horns. He was very hungry. He wanted some grass so he started to cross the bridge, STOMP, STOMP, STOMP, STOMP.
‘WHO’S THAT CROSSING MY BRIDGE?’ yelled the troll.
‘It’s only me’ said the biggest goat.
‘THEN I SHALL EAT YOU FOR LUNCH!’ said the troll in a scary voice.
‘OH NO YOU WON’T!’ roared Mr Billy Goat.
And he ran at the troll and pushed him off the bridge and down into the river.
AAAAAAAAARGH!
The troll was never seen again.
And the Goats had all the green grass and lived happily ever after.
